It was dark inside. One might go so far as to say it was pitch black in the little hovel. The darkness, however, was pierced by a pair of reflective blue eyes. If you could have seen, you would have noticed that those eyes were attached to a pule furred cat. She was fluid in stillness, yet her posture was fixed, as if she had been sitting still for a long time, and would continue to do so for hours more. For some unfathomable reason, they called her Mercy. She prided herself in being a strong leader of the Quart Creixent, and she held her position with an iron fist, or rather, paw. Her expression was in the dark, but if it could have been seen, it was an unmistakable look of determination.
She muttered to herself quietly, she would not be overheard, it was night and if her cats new what was good for them, they'd be asleep. "Still a new leader, oh yes...still untrusted, not for long, I say.." Her mutterings could be mistaken for madness, but truly, Mercy's head was clearer than it had been in weeks. Her struggle for power had been difficult, and at times Mercy had been sure it would fail. If that was not enough to make a sharp mind snap than what was? For Mercy's part, she felt light as air. As if without knowing it, she had been carrying a heavy load, but now the load was gone, now she could fly.
"So what first?!" Mercy yelled so loudly the sound reverberated off the walls for a few seconds. Mercy quieted for a moment, recoiling back into her nest that had been set for her. She did not want any one to awake. After she had ascertained that she had not disturbed anyone she continued with her frantic musings. She would need to be sure of her power, and sure of her cats loyalty. To be feared was never enough. If they listened to her, the Quart Creixent would be great. A bit of a hysterical chuckle escaped her lips. Maybe her mind was a bit...cracked, never mind, she was still going to go down in history, as the greatest leader. Mercy nodded once. She needed to keep a level head, an easy task for her, an show her strength. Then she would be untouchable.
